I'll be attending the University of Edinburgh from September this year to study an MSc by Research Interdisciplinary Creative Practices.
I successfully secured funding for and am currently undertaking a small research project around parrot-computer interaction. I am supported by the Lincoln Social Computing research group (LiSC) and the Department of Biological Sciences, and funded by the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Scheme (UROS).
I'm a strong believer in student proactivism (note: different to activism) and during my time at Lincoln was very involved with Lincoln's Student As Producer project, and the University Alliance Partnership
I graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2011, the proud holder of a First Class BSc(Hons) Web Technology degree. Core modules of note included software development, web and server technologies, mobile and social computing, HCI, creative technology and professional practice. Combined, these have contributed to a well balanced pool of knowledge about the creative, technological and business-oriented sides of web development industry and practices. I opted for a business processes module, then artificial intelligence followed by computer vision and robotics.
During sixth form I passed Open University short course T189 Digital Photography. In my first year of University, I took on an additional module of intermediate German. In 2010 I passed, with a score of 100%, T155 Linux: An Introduction, another OU short course.
In 2010 my abstract Google Writer: A Mash Up was published as part of the Lovelace Colloquium conference proceedings, and the accompanying poster won the runner up prize in the peoples' choice category. In 2011, my poster CakeBomb: An online, collaborative community won the runner up prize in the original projects category.
I completed A Levels in chemistry, maths, product design and French, and gained AAAB respectively, with an additional A for AS-Level critical thinking (a total of 520 UCAS points).
At GCSE, I achieved five As and seven A*s.
